Kenny Yun’s “Lettuce Town Lies” about growing up in Salinas of California ran at The Marsh and won “Best Solo Show” with SF press. His dark dada comedy “The Kim Jong-IL Experience” had a workshop run at The Marsh Berkeley. He collaborates with David Ford and Charlie Varon who have directed him.
His third work “Mom Spilled Guts On My Tater Tots”, originally developed as part of The Marsh Performance Initiative II, will be presented in 2015.
Charlie began Kenny’s teaching and directing path by inviting him to assistant teach storytelling workshops at The Marsh. He received more directing training from Berkeley Rep and David Ford. Kenny directed comedian Michael Meehan’s SF Fringe show “Hey Monster, Hands Off My City” now a movie starring many San Francisco standup comics.
Kenny has an English Literature degree from U.C. Berkeley. He has performed standup comedy and acted in classic and modern plays. He studied theatre arts at A.C.T. (studio), Berkeley Rep, and the Clown Conservatory. He was the winner of the Russian River Comedy Contest.
