Coaching

Working with me as Your Coach

I have been coaching solo performers for 15 years. My practice draws upon established theatre lineages as well as Jungian and Drama Therapy approaches to express inner life.

My personal experience with numerous healing modalities, religion and spirituality, and mythology has enabled me to support artists from diverse backgrounds. I avoid gatekeeping solo performers into a singular model of performance, and I encourage them to express strong or taboo emotions such as anger and grief.

For devising, openness and experimentation are key.

For spiritually inclined artists, I also do intuitive readings to find natural talents to build upon.

Our collaboration will deepen characters and moments, but will also be fun and empowering.

Coaching Areas

Devising:
Play and experiment with Lecoq physical theatre methods and tools from Pig Iron and The Assembly.

Character Work:
Explore physicality, motivation, and objectives.

Scene Analysis:
Break down specific scenes into objectives and dramatic actions.

Embodiment:
Use multi-disciplinary techniques to physicalize characters and actions.

Blocking & Choreography:
Explore composition through movement exercises to enhance visual story elements.

Coaching Commitment

When working with me, I ask that students commit to a minimum of one session per specific area, such as physicalizing a character or focusing on the beats of a scene. I’ve found that weekly sessions are most fruitful for solo performers who are preparing a full length show for a theater run or fringe tour.
